This week for the millers
|
|
|
|
|
|
My daughter (and her cousin) officially graduated Pre-School this week...though I'm not sure it helped as she proudly displays her "I did it!" card above :D To make it worse - this is her second year in pre-k - we held her back as she is one of those weird school birthday dates. But hey - she'll figure it out in Kindergarten right? Actually - the Lord has blessed us with some smart kiddos (which can be dangerous sometimes) and more often than not, goofs like this are done on purpose. Our oldest was just accepted into the "high-cap" program at 3rd grade, so will be transferring to a new school this coming fall for some more challenging education.
School ends this Friday, and we kick it off with a Father's Day camping trip to Mount St. Helens. A month ago, on May 18th, marked the 43rd anniversary of the great eruption of one of our most active volcanoes in the Cascade Mountain range. Ash made it all the way to Whidbey Island here. We are looking forward to a few days exploring, touring, teaching the kids, and enjoying creation (and death, and new life!) as we break away from the routines of school to celebrate.
Speaking of breaking away - our mighty men just returned from their weeklong foray into Mexico to build another tiny home for an impoverished family there. Cost, travel, materials and work, all paid for and done and absolutely life-changing. They returned this week so I look forward to the full report Sunday, but what a blessing to be a part of something greater than ourselves - for the benefit of all humankind!
